Ford Mustang Cobra Jet Twin-Turbo Concept

Since the debut of the Cobra Jet in 2008, it has been one of the most successful, production-based racing vehicles in the world.
The 2012 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet Twin-Turbo Concept, is turbo-charged technology at its best and is taken from the production EcoBoost engines with the aim of enhancing performance.
This 2012 Concept comes with an improved suspension, revised interior, new design elements, and an upgraded engine.

Engine

Under the hood is a twin-turbo engine, revised from the 5.0 L V8 engine of Ford. A 2.9L supercharger is linked, drawing up to 100 hp from the drive train to increase the power that can be used.
The engine is helped by a 3-speed C4 Auto Race gear-box, the combination enables the Jet to produce 430 horsepower. This power is put into use through the help of a drag race tire/titanium aluminized wheels combination. Light-weight low-drag brakes help slow and stop this Mustang.

Exterior

Initial details suggest that the car will be fitted with black anodized wheels as well as new optional finishes of Grabber Blue, Race Red and Winner White. However, the exterior will be offered in a standard Crisp white finish combined with black and blue strips that runs from the front bumper through the top of the car to the rear bumper.
A graphics package is available as an option and includes: 5.4 Cobra Jet hood graphics, Power-By-Ford fender emblems and Sweeping Snake side graphics among others. The automaker will also fit the 2012 model with an 8.50et NHRA certified roll cage for maximum safety of the occupants.
Other key features expected on the Twin-Turbo Concept include: Watson engineering stainless-steel-headers, anodized and forged pistons with Grafal-coated skirts, Livernois Motorsport valve springs and Manley H-beam connecting rods.
The new Twin-Turbo is still in its concept stages; it is yet to be tested and finalized before actual production takes place. However, with the little information we know, this 2012 Twin-Turbo Concept may have the competition quaking in their boots. It will face competition from rivals like Nissan’s 370Z coupe, the Dodge Challenger and the Chevrolet Camaro Coupe.

Senner Tuning Audi S5 Coupe

The 2012 Senner Tuning Audi S5 Coupe becomes the latest key project from the German tuner. This is not the first time that the tuner has focused on modifying the Audi S5, but the 2012 Coupe is most likely their most impressive package to date.
Initially, Audi did their own tweaks and added a new 3.0L V6 supercharged engine to the face-lifted S5 Coupe. Senner Tuning ratchets it up a notch with all these new elements to a higher level to come up with the 2012 Senner Tuning S5 Coupe.

Engine

Senner fine tunes the standard 3.0L V6 engine to generate 429 horsepower and 370 lbs-ft of torque up from 329 hp and 324 lbs-ft. This was achieved by the installation of a mechanically-driven supercharger, 2-part motor cover, power converter, and performance racing air-filter.
After the exclusion of the maximum speed blocker, the Senner Tuning's S5 Coupe can now fully convert its improved performance into top line speed and forward drive. This performance is complimented by an awesome sound made by the 4-pipe RS5 exhaust scheme that extends from the catalytic-converter.

Exterior & Interior

The Senner Audi S5 is fitted with Work VS-XX light alloy wheels that come with black painted anodized star-shaped rims as well as mirror-finish anodized outer rims. These wheels are wrapped in Vredestein-Ultra-Sessanta tires measuring 245/30 R 20 for the front wheels and 295/25 R 20 for the rear.
The tuner also added a full coil over kit to the suspension offering great driving comfort, smooth ride as well as firm control when cornering.
In the interior, you are pampered by the bicolor Nappa leather trim which is offered in Magma-red and black with contrasting stitching color. Other key interior features include: RS5 door handle, sports steering column, and a DVD system that is electronically activated to allow DVDs to be viewed when driving.
With all the mentioned upgrades and tweaks, Senner Tuning did a remarkable job by modifying the Audi S5 into the elegant Senner Tuning S5 Coupe. The package is being sold at 69,990 euro.

Audi R5

Exterior and Interior

Volkswagen’s BlueSport concept left zero questions on whether or not it was going to go into production. In fact, Volkswagen announced that it would be available in three different production versions: one for Audi, one for Porsche, and one for Volkswagen, all of them offering different levels of luxury and performance.
Audi’s version will be placed somewhere in the middle, considering both price and performance, and will be aimed at those customers who want more than the TT, but can’t afford an R8. With an exterior design inspired by the recently launched E-tron concept, Audi’s model was rumored to be called the R4. However, new reports suggest that the future sports car will actually be called the R5, taking under consideration the fact that it will use a five-cylinder engine, and not the four pot reserved for the TT.
Audi will offer both coupe and roadster versions, with the roadster being a production version of the E-tron Concept. Expect an official debut sometime in 2014.
UPDATE 05/05/2011: We were all eager to see the future Audi R5, or R4 as it was also rumored to be called, but the German magazine, Auto Motor Und Sport, reports that Audi has dropped plans to build the sports car. The reasoning behind this is that Audi was afraid that it would affect sales for models like the Audi TT and Porsche Cayman. Rumors also state that building the car might have had a very high price and it would have never been a profitable model. Bummer, that design and engine choice would have been awesome.
UPDATE 07/07/2011: New details about the future Audi R5 sports car suggest that the car will also be offered in shooting brake style ’Sportback’ . The new R5 will differ from its Porsche and Volkswagen siblings "by boasting all-wheel drive and the Audi 5-cylinder turbo, which’d position it above the VW and even above the Porsche in pricing." (Fortitude)
When launched, the Audi R5 will offer no surprises. We will basically see the E-tron concept adjusted for street use combined with design elements from models like the Audi R8. Expect Audi’s famous front grille with the four circles in the middle, headlamps with LED light, vertical air scoops on the sides, wide side sills, and different aluminum insertions.

For the interior Audi will offer the highest quality materials, leather sports seats, aluminum pedals, and more sports details.

The Engine

The future Audi R5 is known internally as the 9X1 and will share Volkswagen’s new ’MiMo’ (Mittelmotor) architecture with the other two BlueSport versions. Translated, this means the future sports car will feature a mid-engine configuration.
So, while the E-tron concept was powered by two electric motors, the production version will use a conventional engine. With the E-tron, Audi only wanted to show that they could develop electric cars, not that they wanted to. The only E-tron anyone will be seeing so far will be the R8 E-tron which will go into production next year.
We expect to see the same 2.5-liter turbo five-cylinder engine from the TTRS, with output in the 350 HP area. We expect to see a 0 to 60 mph sprint time in around 4.5 seconds, while top speed will be limited to 155 mph (like any other German model).

The Competition

The R5’s main competitors will be the other two BlueSport models set to be released by Audi and Porsche. That makes no sense, but that’s a strategy the Volkswagen Group always applied. Take theQ7-Cayenne-Touareg off-roader trio, for example.
Previous rumors suggest that the R5 will also compete with the future Toyota FT-86. But Toyota wants to keep its model in the $20k area, so this will not happen. However, on the European market, the R5 will also compete with models like the Lotus Exige.

When Can I Buy One?

The Audi R5 will make its world debut in 2014, and customers will receive their first orders in 2015. Being placed between the TT and the R8, we expect to pay somewhere at $50k for the new R5.

McLaren's attention to detail and commitment to perfection takes the supercar to a different level. McLaren listens, and has made their newest landmark sports car, the 2012 X-1 concept.

Engine And Design

This concept car is designed for ultimate personalization through McLaren Special Operations (MSO). It is engineered to be drivable, and is legal to drive on the road, not just to admire.
The 616 Horsepower, twin-turbo engine provides exceptional acceleration, and top speed. McLaren Special Operations has taken one client's desires in a car, and brought it to life. It is a drivable, high-speed, luxury car, with a unique body design resembling a futuristic car. The goal is to create something classical with timeless elegance.

Exterior

The McLaren X-1 Concept’s body is made of panels of carbon, finished in piano black, and lacquered with carbon fiber, making for an exquisite finish. Its unique head and taillights are made of solid aluminum, with a nickel finish.
Exclusive to the X-1, are the diamond-turned wheels, with complimentary tinted lacquer. Another unique styling feature is the over-the-shoulder rails at the bottom of the windshield, and rear window, along with enclosed rear wheels. Attention to detail is shown by illuminating the rear plate.
The header tank has an aluminum cap, and carbon finishers line the engine bay. The X-1 is longer than McLaren's 12C, but its lighter carbon structure compensates for the longer and wider body in weight.

Interior

The McLaren interior architecture may remain the same in the X-1, but it is enhanced with Red, Nappa leather seats, doors, and roof trim. The Andesite-tufted carpet is another high-quality feature added.
The carbon, titanium weave trim in the interior, gives the car a 3-dimensional effect, and adds to its classy look. The sides are part of the dihedral action doors, with twin hinges, giving the car a bat mobile look that is quite unique, and fascinating to look at.

Peugeot EX1 Concept

Dubbed as a car of the future, the 2010 Peugeot EX1 is completely powered by electricity. With a mishmash of modern artistry and original style, the EX1 is designed to provide powerful driving impressions to celebrate the 200 years of adventure of Peugeot. The design of EX1 is based on the concept of a water droplet, having the rear section constructed closely to the rear wheels. This shape enables the reduction of the passenger compartment. And adding the fact that it is manufactured from carbon/honeycomb composite, a more favorable distribution of weight is observed.

The source of power is electric motor, one on each axle with a maximum output of 125 kW and torque of 240 Nm. A sophisticated yet futuristic way of entering the vehicle is done through a reverse-opening door. The driving experience provides an opportunity to similarly handle an aircraft since there are two control handles. The design never compromises the performance. As a matter of fact, EX1 has broken six world acceleration records, one of which showed that it travelled a mile for only 41.09 seconds.

Top 5 Concept Cars

When it comes to the world of cars, the designers are always coming up with new wacky ways of driving. Most of us have our hearts set on that Ferrari, or want to pull up on the drive in a Lamborghini but what about the bizarre cars? Would you fancy any of them?
While there are many people who are looking for a new car or used cars UK, here is a list of the top five most bizarre concept cars built by various manufacturers in the past 20 years.
Nissan Land Glider – One of Nissan’s zero-emission concepts, the Land Glider concept makes the car lean when you turn because of a computer controlled steering system. The driver sits in the centre, and there is a spot for a passenger behind them. The narrow car has replaced the steering wheel with a flight yoke, while there’s also a futuristic dashboard and there are monitors to cater for the fact that there are no rear view mirrors in the car.
Heuliez Friendly – It’s almost a mini campervan that is powered by electrons. It is a friendly looking, good for the environment concept that debuted at the Paris Motor Show back in 2008. With three different lengths and motors, this car sits you and two friends and can reach 70 miles per hour with a battery usage of around 140 miles.
Renault Z.E. – One of the bizarre concepts that has made waves in the market in this car from Renault. The Z.E. is used on a battery pack with electrons coming from a lithium ion battery pack. The body panels and heat reflecting paint ensure that the car is insulated, and it is the temperature regulation that lends itself to a reduced climate control load. What it does, ultimately, is lower energy consumption while have modern comforts.
Venturi Volage – An all-electric, carbon fiber race car, this hand-made car is a compact unit using electric drive motors. Each wheel has two motors, with one for propulsion and the other for suspension. The low centre of gravity helps to enhance the performance of the vehicle.
Mazda Kiyora – Part of the “flow” concept vehicles, this car has a look of a spaceship, more than an automobile but the 1.3 litre engine it boasts allows you to calmly cruise the urban streets. This next-generation compact car is known for high fuel-efficiency and is the next step into an urban car to replace their current line.
With many people thinking about lowering their emissions, it’s a great time to be buying concept cars for having in and around the city. Known for stylish interiors, exteriors and designs these are the future of motoring.
