Toyota Me.We Concept

While it may not be impressive at first glance, the 2013 Toyota Me.We Concept is quite the engineering marvel. The carmaker formed an alliance with acclaimed designer Jean-Marie Massaud to create this unique vehicle.
The primary objective that went into crafting this vehicle are forward thinking, consolidation plus usefulness and personalization based on lifestyle.
2013-Toyota-ME.WE-Concept-profile A

Engine & Performance

As you may have guessed by now, the Toyota Me.We Concept car is electric powered. Each wheel contains its own electric motor allowing the capability of an efficient 2 or 4 wheel drive function. The car batteries are located beneath the floor.
Exterior
It looks like one of the cars featured in Disney's "Cars" movie rather than an assembly line. Its front façade is comprised of 2 headlights and a single strip "grille". Its profile is short and rectangular.
One large circular handle affords entry via the front or rear doors. The rear view showcases mostly window with a large rear bumper with tiny taillights. Its body is made from aluminum coated with a polypropylene outer shell.
2013-Toyota-ME.WE-Concept-versatile B

Interior

The inside of the 2013 Me.We Concept is reminiscent of a vessel made for water rather than the road. Its floors are bamboo, another concession to the environment. The seats are thin, once again reminding you more of nautical benches than of those for a driving machine.
The steering wheel adds an aeronautical flavor as well. Perhaps it most interesting interior feature is that of a single screen that displays all car information.
However, the 2013 Toyota Me.We Concept is not about appearances. It is instead concerned with adaptability and effectiveness. Each individual body panel can be reconfigured to suit most everyone's needs.
It is an everyday use urban vehicle, off roader, convertible and pick up all in one! The Me and We in its name literally refers to the car being good for you, while also for others around you. It is environmentally friendly to the greatest extent.
It is even bio-degradable with much of its materials recyclable. It weighs just 1,653 pounds, 20% lighter than other models of its proposed market segment.

Lamborghini Egoista Concept

The Lamborghini range of sports car are almost synonymous with powerful engines and aggressive designs. This is more and more punctuated with the launch of Lamborghini's new "ultra-rad road rager", the 2013 Lamborghini Egoista Concept.
It was launched as part of the automaker's 50th anniversary. Egoista is an Italian phrase that means, "selfish or egotistical". The selfish element is more pronounced because this super car has been designed for only one person, the driver.
2013-Lamborghini-Egoista-Concept-profile A

Engine

The Lamborghini Egoista Concept is powered by a 5200 cc engine with a V10 configuration that is capable of supplying it with the power of up to 600 horsepower. The car's engine performance is 20 times greater than the original Lamborghini Aventador.
The engine is located at the rear of the driver and is capable of bringing the car to top speed of 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds. This extreme engine performance combined with Egoista's perfect technical and aerodynamic design provides pure driving pleasure, style and performance beyond limits.

Exterior & Interior

It is not surprising that the Egoista's exterior design is inspired by Lamborghini's distinctive symbol, the bull is ready to plow. It has stealth-styled carbon composite body panels as well as its electric orange wheels crafted from special radar rejecting materials.
2013-Lamborghini-Egoista-Concept-from-the-side B
It incorporates a series of reticulated flaps on its upper exterior surface in place of fixed spoilers.
The interior of this super car is extremely rational and can be set automatically depending on the car's condition while driving. Basically, everything in the cockpit's interior only works with electronic commands and hence it requires a pilot more than a driver.

Price

It is important to mention that 2013 Lamborghini Egoista Concept is the only one of its kind in the world because it's just a concept. However, it is very possible for the automaker to make one just for you, are you up to it?

Renault Twin-Z Concept

It's not easy being green or even blue with green wheels as is the 2013 Renault Twin-Z Concept car when it was unveiled. The green wheels may be a bit much, but it is intended to emphasize the eco-friendly nature of this compact all electric vehicle.
It is obviously aimed at the big city markets where it will carry you from place to place up to 100 miles between charges.

Engine & Performance

The 2013 Twin-Z Concept runs on a rear mounted electric motor that delivers 68 horsepower and 166 lb ft. of torque. Its power source are 4, 96 volt lithium-ion battery packs that fit nicely under the floor.
Surprisingly, the Twin-Z Concept can reach a top speed of 81 mph. It is a rear wheel drive vehicle. The engine is paired with a direct drive transmission with a reducer gear and forward/reverse inverter.

Exterior

The Renault Twin-Z Concept let's take a look at its overall dimensions. It is slightly less than 12 feet in length. The width measures close to 5.5 feet. It stands less than 5 feet tall with a wheelbase of 98 inches (just over 8').
A vortex effect is created by the new front grille and rear bumper. The headlamps are of the LED variety and when you look at the running lights you'll have the eerie impression of a human eye staring back. However, the "piece de resistance" has to be the LED display on the entire roof surface.

The electronically controlled front and rear doors are multi hinged. They are reminiscent of a modern version of "suicide" doors. Don't bother looking for any outside mirrors as the outdoor views are displayed on internal video. The tail lamp assembly encompasses the large rear window with a light display.

Interior

Dashboards and instrument clusters are also a thing of the past on the Twin-Z Concept. The controls are accessed via a large touch screen display mounted on the center console. It will seat 4 with an extended steering column topped off with a racing style oval steering wheel and 2 rear bucket seats integrated directly into the rear floor.

August Horch worked for Karl Benz for several years, rising to become factory manager at early automaker Benz & Company. In 1899 he established his own business, August Horch & Company, which had success for several years as a niche maker of technically advanced cars, including Germany's first vehicle with a four-cycle engine. In 1904 he took his business public, a move he later regretted, as stockholders voted him out of the company's presidency when sales slumped. In 1910 he founded a new company, Horch Automobile Works, which led to an immediate lawsuit alleging trademark infringement filed by Horch's first company. A court subsequently ruled that Horch & Company owned the rights to August Horch's name, so he renamed his second company Audi, a Latin translation of Horch, which literally means "hark". He retired in 1920, and died 30 years later. In 1932 Audi was merged with three other automakers (including Horch & Co.) to form Auto Union of Saxonian Motor Vehicle Builders, the corporate forebear of Audi AG, which is now a subsidiary of Volkswagen. The Auto Union nameplate was discontinued after 1964, but Auto Union's logo -- four interlocking rings to represent its four interlocked companies -- remains the nameplate on present-day Audi vehicles.

Top 100 Old Beauties in the world of Cars

To narrow the scope, we also limited the picks to hot rods (a catchall that includes customs, race cars, and more) built in 1948 or later, the date that coincided with this magazine's first issue. So there will be no early Henry Ford speedsters or the like, and just one very famous stock production car. That leaves out Hemi Super Stockers, Shelby Mustangs, and COPO Camaros. Get over it. You'll also think of at least another 100 famous or popular cars that are not on the list-there's nothing here from Tony Nancy, the Alexander Brothers, Dean Jeffries, Bill Cushenberry, or another several dozen builders on your mind. Why? Remember the dividing line: influence. We couldn't name a car by any of those guys that changed the world more significantly than the 100 cars in these pages. For the same reason, don't look for legendary rods as the Pierson coupe or the Niekamp roadster, because we couldn't argue that they changed more lives than such clods as the General Lee, the Bandit Trans Am, or even the American Graffiti coupe. Fame trumps grace every time, and if fads had anything to do with style, then there'd be thousands of CadZZilla kits and just one Meyers Manx dune buggy.Top 100 Hot Rods100 ROBERT WILLIAMS '32 FORD There are plenty of precedents for the "done in primer," beaTop 100 Hot Rods99 MAGAN/WILLIAMS GOLDEN THINGS Hot rods don't have to have wheels. He ran 11-something in the quarter, but caught the bug and showed up the next year with a purpose-built, tube-chassis car that ran the number and paved the way for the current wave of radical Pro Street cars we have today. When he sold it to former Pro Stock racer Tony Christian, the car destroyed not only the competition but also the "street car" pretense of that type of racing. -Rob KinnanTop 100 Hot Rods43 STAN SHAW/TONY CHRISTIAN'S '57 CHEVY Stan Shaw showed up at the very first HOT ROD FasTop 100 Hot Rods42 C.A.R.S.
